Psalms

The Psalms
91
Abiding in the Shadow of the Almighty
1
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High

shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2
I will say of the LORD,

He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
3
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,

and from the noisome pestilence.
4
He shall cover thee with his feathers,

and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;

nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6
nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;

nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7
A thousand shall fall at thy side,

and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
8
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold

and see the reward of the wicked.
9
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge,

even the Most High, thy habitation;
10
there shall no evil befall thee,

neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, Mt. 4.6 · Lk. 4.10

to keep thee in all thy ways.
12
They shall bear thee up in their hands,

lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Mt. 4.6 · Lk. 4.11
13
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:

the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Lk. 10.19
14
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him:

I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:

I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honor him.
16
With long life will I satisfy him,

and show him my salvation.

WHICH FLAVOR ARE YOU.....

Vanilla: “Vanilla lovers, you’ve been miscast for too long. While most people think of you as reserved, you’re actually more likely to consider yourselves as risk-takers compared to other flavors. When it comes to work, like your favorite ice cream, your job doesn’t require a lot of bells and whistles to keep you motivated. Your passion is enough to get you out of bed in the morning.”
Chocolate: “Contrary to popular belief, you are reserved and tend to go with the flow. You’d even go so far as to say you’re shy. But that’s not to say you’re mainstream … you’re inspired by Indie performers in rock, film and TV who push the envelope creatively.”
Strawberry: “You’re a dedicated worker bee - being recognized with a raise and promotion for a job well done is important to you, as is a healthy relationship with your boss. You mean business – but you’re also somewhat of a free spirit. When it comes to time off, you’d rather volunteer to help others than lie on a beach.”

Trust.....

......once you've been betrayed is it ever truly possible to trust again.I think so.....if both partners are willing to try hard to restore a shattered marriage.But what if the husband demands to continue his "platonic" friendship with this woman?.....Recently I found a card Cathy had written him. ( yes, I am bad. I was snooping:(......)

Although it was quite enlightening and heartbreaking this is the part that ripped into my very being....."poor,dear Kevin....Karen does not give you the respect you deserve....I am so glad I am here for you!....HELLO!!!!!!!.Well dear Cathy by sleeping with my husband what kind of respect are you giving YOUR husband.....

Well Lord.....here's another burden I lie at the foot of your cross....and thanks Lord for allowing me to vent here instead of facing her.....I have a really feeling I would have been declared the "bad" one

Blessed Storms

During stormy weatherClouds seem to lose their glow;Gathering together They darken Earth below.The leaden sky explodes;Rain pelts the ground with forceThreatening to erodeThe soil without remorse.Clouds rumble, roil and moan;Lights split the sky in two;Earth's creatures hide and groanBirds bid the air adieu.Though dark clouds hide the sun;Though they are glum and gray -Without them we're undoneFor they send life our way.They're smiled on by the SonHe formed; sent each of them;A blessing every one;A mystery to men.Bringing much needed rainEnabling life to grow;Though storms can cause much painWe need their blessed flow.When storm clouds gather closeAnd life seems dark and bleak;When foes attack; opposeLeaving us battered; weak.Remember that each cloud'sA blessing in disguise -Sent by God; allowedTo strengthen; make us wise. ~ Belinda van Rensburg ~

Please Pray for.....

.....my friends Kathy's family.She has a devoted husband and two teenage sons,a wonderful mother and several siblings.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly eight yrs. ago. She put up a brave and valiant fight.....never complaining.....always leaning on the Lord.....this past Wednesday her weakened body had had enough.....She will be greatly missed.....but what joy knowing she has arrived to her promised mansion in the skies.....she ya later,friend.....

HAVE YOU WONDERED......

All of us have wondered at times why God doesn't do more to fix our
Problems. But our human eyes often fail to see that God isn't rushing to
Change our circumstances because he is concerned with a much more
Serious problem - our character. While you struggle with the woes of
This world, God's main occupation is preparing you for the world to
Come. The focus of what God is doing in your life takes place in you,
Not around you.

SEASONS

Winter, Its harsh winds, And cold nights, Teardrops freeze Into icy crystals As they fall helplessly And shatter As they hit the cold, hard ground. Spring, The warm breeze, And softened earth, Out of the darkness And into the light I see the sun Once more And can feel its heat again. Summer, The long, hot days, And endless nights, The humidity in the air Makes it impossible To breathe And I struggle To stay in focus. Fall, The changing colors, And cool winds that blow, It seems as though This endless cycle Is beginning again And there can be no stopping The changing of the seasons. .......by Virginia Cook

His Majesty

Can anyone truly look at a sunset and say that there is no God. Or gaze into the heavens on a starry night and not know that we have been blessed by the Presence of an Almighty Creator. And then there are those billowing cloud formations we lay staring at as a child. Could this be an act of chance? Or listen to the melodious tune of a babbling brook as it sings on its merry journey. God's handiwork is all around us and His signature is on each of His masterpieces. And the greatest masterpiece He ever created was YOU and ME! Because He created us in His Image. To say that we have tarnished that image is certainly an understatement. But just like all His other Masterpieces we are not complete until He signs His work. God puts His signature on YOU and ME the day that WE receive Jesus Christ as OUR personal Savior and Lord. .....by The Prodigal Son

the Coal Miner's Grandaughter

......that would be me.....and I say that proudly.My grandfather was a miner in North East Pa. for years and years. I was sooooooooooooooooo proud of him.....going into those deep,dark mines every day.12 hour days when I was very young.But he never complained.He did what he had to to and praised the Lord for the strength he had to do it.

I ask you to pray with me for the miners lost in the recent mining disaster in West Virginia. These men are brave and willing to do what it takes to care for their families.God please bless all the families in this small town and grant them the strength only you can offer.PTL!

God's Child

God's Child..........................If God today spoke to me, and asked me, has your life been all it was meant to be? I've loved you Lord, but sometimes I couldn't see? There were times I would shout, do you really love me? Yes, child without a doubt. Can I ask you Lord, where is my child? Next to me, said our Lord. Does he know I loved him? Of course my child, he's a joy! My child, he is still your boy. Without a doubt, he knew you loved him! A soft, gentle child to love, and to hold! 'I sinned Lord' When I let him go, I have lived my life in vain. 'Why' My child, there is nothing to gain from sorrow? Tell me Lord? How will I live my tomorrow? Believe me child, the world will know your name! And why Lord, would anyone want to know my name? Teach them, for they do not know what riches they have to gain! Don't forget I loved you, before I knew your name! 'But Lord forgive me' For I have lived a life of shame. No my chi! ld, you are not to blame. I am not strong Lord, but I have learned to let you be my guide! 'Come Child' Come, sit by my side! To my son in heaven, he is home with you my Lord. Love him, and keep him next to you. 'for me'

The Virus

MountainWings A MountainWings Moment#1340 Wings Over The Mountains of Life-------------------------------------------------The Virus==========Two men were diagnosed with a deadly virus. They were told thatthe cure would change their life forever. Their families mightdisown them, and friends could turn their backs on them.One man decided to decline the offer; he didn't want to be leftout of anything. At first everything seemed ok. He drank withhis friends and family and ignored what the doctors said.Time went past and life took a turn for the worst. The virusbegan to consume his life. He had to quit his job and lost hissource of income. The people he called friends didn't help,they told him it was his problem not theirs. Everyday was astruggle for life. His days were long and painful. On hisdeathbed his last words were, I should've taken the cure.The other man decided to take the cure.From then on his life changed. His family betrayed him, andsaid it was a waste of money. They didn't talk to him anymorebecause they didn't believe in what he was doing. His friendsleft because he couldn't do all the stuff he used to do. Atfirst he cursed the doctors for the way people were treatinghim.After time he began to get better. He was getting promotedbecause he was able to focus on his job. His family apologizedfor the way they treated him. He got new friends that helpedhim daily. Life to him was a gift. He thanked God daily thathe decided to take that cure.That virus is like our problems.If we hold on to them and ignore them they will begin to consumeus. They will take over our life and no matter what we do, wewon't be able to get rid of them.If we give our problems to God he can heal us.He is the cure for any problem we might have.Yes we might be treated differently, but in the end we can saythank you God.........~A MountainWings Original by Christopher Deschene~
